I am so sad to announce the death of my dear friend and assistant of 25 years, Chris Blair. She fought a powerful battle against cancer. Chris was a fighter in every way; a lover of books and children; she worked as a middle school librarian for thirty years. She understood stories at a deep level and was one of the important voices in my life as a writer. I, and all who loved her, will miss Chris terribly.
